The Prince of Wales has revealed that he and the Duchess of Cornwall have not yet met Baby Sussex, but “look forward” to doing so when they return to the UK.
Their Royal Highnesses are currently on a tour of Germany and did not get a chance to travel to Windsor to meet their new grandchild before jetting off to continental Europe.
Speaking in Berlin, Prince Charles said: “We couldn’t be more delighted at the news and we’re looking forward to meeting the baby when we return.”
Charles & Camilla are undertaking a four-day visit to Germany. Once they return to the UK, they will likely head straight to Windsor to meet their new grandson, who by then should have a name.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also have not yet had a chance to meet their new nephew.
Speaking on Tuesday afternoon, Prince William said that he is “absolutely thrilled” at the news of Harry & Meghan’s new arrival.
His Royal Highness added that he was “looking forward to seeing them in the next few days when things have quietened down.”
