Old age pensioners Charles & Camilla make the most of their free bus pass

Two senior citizens caught the bus on Wednesday in London, however, these were no ordinary OAPs.

The passengers were the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall who embarked on a famous London red bus at Clarence House.

Their destination was the British Transport Museum in Covent Garden – just a short 15 minute journey away.

The 71-year-old Prince and the 72-year-old Duchess travelled on was one of London’s new environmentally friendly electric double deckers.

On arrival at the London Transport Museum, Their Royal Highnesses were greeted by the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan.

They then undertook a tour of the museum which welcomes more than 400,000 visitors through its doors each year.

During the tour, Charles and Camilla mat Transport for London (TfL)apprentices and staff who have pioneered environmental and mental health schemes in the workplace and crisis response staff.

The visit marks 20 years of TfL which was set-up in 2000 to bring London’s transport network together under one integrated body.

Since then, TfL has grown and improved London’s transport network to help support jobs, homes, opportunities and economic growth across the capital.

The Prince of Wales received his bus pass on his 65th birthday after completing the relevant documents.

The bus pass ensures the Prince receives his statutory entitlement of more than £100 per week to use public transport free of charge.
