Details of Harry & Meghan’s first public engagement as a married couple are announced

Details of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s first public engagement as a married couple have been released by Clarence House.

The couple will attend The Prince of Wales’ 70th Birthday Patronage Celebration in the Gardens of Buckingham Palace which takes place just three days after their wedding.

They will be joined by Prince Charles, who turns 70 in November, and his wife the Duchess of Cornwall.

The event will celebrate The Prince of Wales’ Patronages and Military affiliations as well as others involved in charities supported by the heir to the throne.

Over 6000 people will be attending from 386 of The Prince of Wales’ patronages, and 20 of The Prince’s military affiliations will be represented.

This will be the first event Harry,and Meghan will attend as a Duke and Duchess. Their Dukedom has yet to be announced although it is expected to be either the Dukedom of Sussex or Clarence.

Harry and Meghan are thought to be going on their honeymoon shortly after this engagement.

A number of cadets and emergency services personnel who were first responders after the bombing at the Manchester Arena on 22nd May 2017 will attend the Garden Party.

Charles and Camilla visited Manchester Arena on 26th June 2017 to meet staff who were first on the scene immediately after the bombing.
