The Royal Family congratulates Harry and Meghan on baby news

The Queen has expressed her happiness at the news her Royal Family is about to grow.

Soon after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex confirmed they are expecting another baby, Buckingham Palace said ‘’The Queen, Duke of Edinburgh, Prince of Wales and the entire family are delighted and wish them well.’’

Harry and Meghan announced they will welcome their second child on February 14th 2021. Sharing a new image, taken by Misan Harriman, the couple said ‘’We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child.’’

The new baby will be eighth in line to the throne from birth. They will be a fifth grandchild for The Prince of Wales and a tenth or eleventh great grandchild for The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh. Zara Tindall is also expecting a baby this year and with neither her due date nor that of the Duchess of Sussex being known, it’s not certain which new arrival will make their debut first.

The baby will be one of at least three in the latest generation of Windsors to arrive in 2021. On February 9th 2021, Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank welcomed their first child, a baby boy.
