The Queen says thank you for special Jubilee celebration

The Queen has expressed her thanks to all those who have planted a tree for her Jubilee.

As tree planting season comes to an end, Her Majesty expressed her joy in the Queen’s Green Canopy which has seen thousands of people plant trees to mark the 70th anniversary of her reign.

The Queen had begun the tree season by placing a tree on the Balmoral Estate alongside the Prince of Wales.

The Queen’s full message reads:

As the planting season draws to a close, I send my sincere thanks to everyone across the country who has planted a tree to celebrate my Platinum Jubilee.

I am deeply touched that so many community groups, schools, families and individuals have made their own unique contributions to the Green Canopy initiative.

I hope your Jubilee trees flourish and grow for many years to come, for future generations to enjoy.

The Queen’s Green Canopy extends around the Commonwealth and is being supported by the Woodland Trust. The project will also see 70 areas of Ancient Woodland secured for the Jubilee and 70 ancient trees celebrated as part of the event.
