The Princess of Wales commiserates with England after last minute World Cup loss

The Princess of Wales has praised the England rugby team as their run in the Rugby World Cup came to an end.

England lost 15-16 to South Africa in a topsy turvy semi final in France.

After the final whistle went, the Princess issued a statement on social media saying ”You can be proud of yourselves….though it may have been defeat today, you can walk away from this tournament with your heads held high.” The message was signed ”C”.

England led for a long spell of the match before a late second half try put defending champions, South Africa, in pole position and they claimed the win with a 77th minute penalty that took them to the final against New Zealand.

The Princess of Wales is patron of England Rugby and has been at several of their matches throughout the tournament.
