The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to Undertake a Day of Engagements in North Wales

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are scheduled to take on a series of engagements this Friday, 20 November, in North Wales, a palace press release confirms.

The visit is focused on youth and mental health, a cause the royal couple has taken particular interest in. This series of engagements will add to the long list of both joint and solo engagements that have lately focused on mental health issues plaguing youth worldwide.

Their first stop of the day will be at Caernarfon to visit a photography project focused on the experiences and challenges facing youths who live with mental health problems. The project is run by the Mind Organisation.

The charity currently supports around 400 young people every year as well as reaching a further two thousand young people to raise awareness of homelessness issue across schools in North Wales.

The royal couple will also meet with locals when they stop at Castle Square near midday before jetting off to Snowdonia.

After their engagements in Caernarfon, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will travel to Snowdonia to visit an Outdoor Education Centre run by Mountain Rescue England. The Duke is a patron of the organisation and the couple will meet young people who have been trained to help and address mental health issues that might be plaguing their peers.

Finally, the royal couple will finish off their day in Denbigh, where they will visit the Men’s Shed Movement. The Man’s Shed Movement plays an important role in the mental health and wellbeing of young men.

The Duke and Duchess are fond of Wales, having spent their early married years living in Anglesey while William was stationed there. According to the palace press release, Their Royal Highnesses are delighted to be returning to Wales for the day.
