Call it the Archie effect!
Special edition royal baby teddy bears by Merrythought of Shropshire have seen their sales soar, so much so that the Archie Harrison celebration bears sold out before they even went into production.
Only hours after Archie’s birth was announced, the teddy bears had sold out but not before crashing the factory’s website.
The white teddy bear features a silver satin bow ribbon around his neck and has the royal baby’s name, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor embroidered in silver on its right paw. The left paw is embroidered with Archie’s weight and date of birth with a crown.

The special edition teddy bear had a run of just 250 special occasion bears organised by the business.
Merrythought is Great Britain’s last teddy bear factory.

Archie’s birth has seen a plethora of royal souvenirs to mark the birth from stuffed animals to trinket boxes.
It seems that, like his mother the Duchess of Sussex, items associated with Archie will fly off the shelves!
Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was born on 6 May 2019 at 5.26 am to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. He weighed seven pounds and three ounces at birth. The location of his birth, thought to be either Portland Hospital in London or the family home of Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, has not yet been revealed.
Meghan and Harry announced his name to the world on 8 May on their official Instagram account. They have chosen to not give him a title at this time; however, when his grandfather, Prince Charles, ascends the throne, he will automatically become Prince Archie of Sussex according to the Letters Patent by King George V in 1917.
Archie is seventh in line to the succession of the British throne.
