Jennifer Aniston breaks Sussex Instagram record

The Sussexes broke a world record when they opened their Instagram account “SussexRoyal” earlier this year becoming the quickest account to gain a million followers; the couple received a million follows five hours and 45 minutes which was confirmed by the Guinness Book of World Records.

However, records are meant to be broken.

And Jennifer Aniston did just that when she opened her Instagram account a couple of days ago. The former “Friends: actress and Hollywood heavyweight gained one million followers in an impressive five hours and 16 minutes.

As of writing this article, Aniston has 10.7 million followers, and so many were attempting to follow her account in the beginning that it caused technical problems for those trying to follow her account.

Her first post featured her “Friends” co-stars, Courtney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer with the caption, “And now we’re Instagram FRIENDS too. HI INSTAGRAM.”

As Aniston has only been on the social media networking site for a couple of days, it remains to be seen if she follows the path of Prince Harry and Meghan in promoting charities and causes close to her heart. If she does, one can expect St Jude’s Children’s Hospital to feature heavily on her account.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex boast 9.7 million followers, and they alternate who they follow each month to highlight important causes across the globe. For October, their focus is on “community,” and the couple follows the likes of the WellChild Awards (which they attended the ceremony for earlier this week), School For Life Foundation, Border Kindness, and the Junior League.

When announcing their October pics, Their Royal Highnesses explained, “This month, in celebrating “community”, we asked you to share your favourite organisation from your neighbourhood or around the world. We want to thank everyone who made a suggestion or kindly shared a positive story! We have now updated the accounts we follow for this month to reflect many of your suggestions! Thank you!

“These organisations represent the shared value of togetherness – one that The Duke and Duchess experienced so deeply while on tour in Southern Africa.”
