Duchess of Sussex compares pregnancy to jetlag

The Duchess of Sussex has compared pregnancy to jetlag. While on Bondi Beach this morning in Australia, Her Royal Highness spoke about her pregnancy during an “anti-bad vibes circle” that took place while she and Harry were on the beach to discuss mental health issues with the local community surfing group “One Wave.”

One Wave encourages “people to share their experiences of living with mental health issues and the power of opening up using,” according to Kensington Palace.

Meghan spoke to 35-year-old Charlotte Connell, a fellow expectant mother, during the circle with Charlotte later telling the media about her discussions with the Duchess on battling the exhaustion that comes with pregnancy.

“Meghan told me that pregnancy was like having jet lag. She said she was up at 4.30am this morning doing yoga in her room as she couldn’t sleep.

“It’s a bit of a double whammy for her, she said, as she has both the baby and the jet lag to contend with. We both talked about how you feel jetlagged even though you have not travelled anywhere.

“Even in her jet lag, she got up to do yoga this morning at 4.30. Physical activity like yoga and surfing is so good for healing your mind.”

Another participant, Dabriella Quayle, said afterwards that Meghan had said she was “feeling ok, not too bad.”

After the discussions, Meghan and Harry greeted a group of surfers doing yoga with the Duchess telling them that yoga was her “leveller” and what keeps her grounded. Her Royal Highness added that yoga was her escape.

The Duchess of Sussex’s remarks about her pregnancy comes the day after singer Missy Higgins, who met Meghan during this tour, claimed on Instagram that the royal is four months into her pregnancy instead of the three months that had been assumed.

Kensington Palace has not said the month the new royal baby is due, only announcing that he or she will be born in the spring of 2019.
