A trip to the Suva Market was cut short for the Duchess of Sussex.
Meghan was due at the market to meet UN Women’s Markets for Change, but they visit was shortened due to “crowd management issues.”
A Kensington Palace aide said the visit only lasted less than 10 minutes because the busy market had “crowd management issues” and “uncomfortably busy.” The original visit was planned for around 15 min.
Personally, it looked like an over reaction to me. I’ve seen far more chaotic crowd scenes. But, and this is a big but, she is pregnant so it could be that the palace were being cautious.

The Duchess did meet with everyone, but some were still left feeling disappointed in how quickly it went by.
Those who were at the market felt that crowds were not the problem as they were being held back. The aisle ways were left clear and everything was under control.
Video from inside the market shows a calm atmosphere and more of a reason for cancelling was poor planning.

Before the market, the Duchess had tea at the Residence of the British High Commissioner. There she met representatives from Rise Beyond. The organisation helps rural communities produce and sell handicrafts.
Meghan was very chatty and on point when speaking with the women’s groups.
