Service of Thanksgiving for Prince Philip to take place

Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh

A Service of Thanksgiving for the life of the Duke of Edinburgh will take place at the end of March.

It will be held at Westminster Abbey with The Queen expected to attend.

The service is set for March 29th 2022, just a few days before the first anniversary of Prince Philip’s death.

Her Majesty is also set to attend the Abbey on March 14th 2022 for the annual Commonwealth Day service.

A commemoration of Prince Philip’s life has been expected for several months. With pandemic restrictions lifting, it is now hoped that representatives of many of the charities and organisations he worked alongside will be able to come together to pay tribute to him.

Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh died on April 9th 2021 at WIndsor Castle. He was 99. His funeral took place at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor on April 17th 2021 with just 30 mourners present.
