President Trump hasn’t been in office for two weeks, yet, he has caused controversy from the moment it was announced he was running for the most powerful position in the United States. Contention continues to follow him; particularly among royals. Prince Harry is the latest to speak out against him after Christopher O’Neill, American-British citizen and husband to Sweden’s Princess Madeleine, voiced his disgust for Trump on Instagram.
It appears that the fifth-in-line to the throne isn’t a huge fan of President Trump either, as told to Us Weekly. Another source commented that the Prince is concerned that Trump: “is a serious threat to human rights.” Prince Charles apparently has his own issues with Trump too, who doesn’t believe climate change is a global problem.
Prince Harry’s brother, Prince William is another royal who isn’t too keen about the 70-year-old new President, having his concerns about him and his policies, a source told the Outlet. It doesn’t help matters that President Trump, before his political career, took to Twitter back in 2012 when illegal photos of the Duchess of Cambridge were leaked to the paparazzi. While appearing on the Howard Stern show in 1997, Trump claimed he could’ve slept with the late Diana, Princess of Wales.
It isn’t clear when the President and First Lady will visit the United Kingdom. Despite a petition commissioned by Graham Guest, they will meet The Queen and perhaps stay at Balmoral Castle, Her Majesty’s private residence in Scotland.
Over 1 million Britons signed the petition to ban the new president from travelling to the UK. Many, including members of the Royal Family, are displeased with the travel ban put in place, which bars citizens from seven primarily Muslim countries from entering the United States. Of the petition, Guest said of Trump’s trip it would “cause embarrassment” to The Queen. Guest also told the Independent that Trump shouldn’t be allowed in Queen Elizabeth’s presence because of his “well-documented misogyny and vulgarity.”
It hasn’t been revealed which members of the Royal Family will meet the Trumps during their State Visit. And with all the awkwardness and outright displeasure many royalty have voiced, who, other than The Queen does that leave for the Trumps to meet? We could perhaps assume they will also meet the Duke of Edinburgh as well. As for the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, the Cambridges and Prince Harry, it’s uncertain whether a meeting will be organised. It would certainly be awkward if the Trumps met the Cambridges, given Trump’s crude comments about the Duchess. And Trump himself has said he doesn’t wish to see the h Prince of Wales because he doesn’t want a lecture about climate change.
Being an American, I think the Trumps should meet with The Queen for sure because she will handle herself with grace and professionalism. She isn’t one to reveal her personal feelings. She doesn’t weigh in on political matters. She’s been meeting politicians for over half her life. She’ll keep Trump in line.
If none of the younger royals can stomach sitting through dinner with the Trumps, perhaps it should be the Princess Royal who teams up with her mother or the Duchess of Cornwall. Or maybe the Kents or Gloucesters.
Who do you think would be the best members of the royal family to meet with the Trumps during their visit later this year to the UK? Let us know in the comments.
Madam: I am an American. (Excuse me if I don’t write well) Since you took the throne you have shown the world through your conduct a perfect record of graciousness regardless of any circumstances weighing on you. You have always been someone I have looked up to my entire life. I am 65.
I am sure you are aware of the problems in the States regarding DT. Americans are embarrassed of his conduct.
I would like for you to keep your perfect record of always saying and doing the right thing. Trump is one man and we, the citizens are millions. He did not win the popular vote so there are more of us than the ones who did vote for him.
He is oppressing us, free speech, and is a dictator, fascist, racist . He is not in it to help the people. He is in it to make himself ricer.
I find it disturbing he would gain an audience with you your Majesty.
All I can think of is photographs being seen in history books and those generations wondering why you were with him.
The next thing I think is all the lies he will bring back to the media stating things about you or another royal family member that would be completely untrue.
I am asking you not to meet with him NOW. Give him time. You have to think about yourself and your family and what it will do to your approval rating. I know I will be disappointed forever as will many other Americans and Brits. It will look like you agree with everything he is doing and he’s doing some terrible things. He is going to misquote you for sure. People will believe you approve of him and all he represents and he doesn’t represent the majority of Americans.
This is a slippery slope. Nothing good will become of this.
Your servant,
Vickie Kasper
Dear Vickie,
You are wrong on all counts. He is a very popular President. He is only unpopular among the Muslim and Hispanic communities. For example; Hillary received most of the Mexican vote in California because 10% of the entire workforce are Mexicans and and her PR team played on the fear that all the illegals would be deported. She lost the white women vote as a result.
Dear Luigi, I am neither Muslim or Hispanic but I didn’t vote for Mr Trump and I don’t consider him a “popular” President.
Let’s be honest. Trump won the electoral college by 77 votes. He lost the overall popular vote because New York, Florida and California have a preponderance of Hispanic and Muslim voters (legal & illegal)
Our founding fathers instituted the electoral college system years ago to protect rural America from the tyranny of the Cities. Otherwise, we wouldn’t bother counting the votes in the other 47 states.
You are in the minority. The polls show that Trump won the women vote. He won fair and square. He is your President, get over it. You and a handful of others on this site are sore losers.
You need to get over the fact that Trump lost the popular vote fair and square. Yes, he is the president, because that’s how the system works (as stupid as I and others believe it to be). NO, there were not millions of illegal votes cast. For petes sake he and his supporters are the biggest bunch of sore winners I’ve ever seen.
The fact is, a large percentage of people can’t stand him. There have been non-stop protests over every EO he’s signed. He DOESN’T stand for the people.
What are you smoking? Trump popular? Have you seen the protests going on? I don’t think so.
you are either kidding or grossly misinformed…Muslim and Hispanic peoples are not the only segment of the population who do not like trump…i do not fall into either of those groups and i cannot stand him…his remarks about his own daughter make my skin crawl…he is thin skinned, petty and vindictive…how do you go to a prayer breakfast and stand there bragging about your former television show doing poorly in the ratings since you left it..what kind of man goes on and on for days about the size of the crowds at his inauguration or is the crowd size not the thing whose size he is really fretting about. make no mistake about it, trump will do what is right for trump…his ego would not have it any other way and if, per chance, what he does helps the country that’s fine but if what he does hurts the country, oh well, at least he got richer doing it…think about how “smart” he is by not paying taxes next time you get paid and see the deductions withheld..think about how “smart” he is by not paying taxes when you are signing a check on April 15th…his actions and words are horrible…he is a racist..he is abusive to women…that’s not name calling, that is fact
Her Majesty is a professional who has seen off many heads of state. She will regard it as her duty to her country to meet The Orange One, no matter how she feels personally. I do wish Trump would stay away. He is not a suitable person to be allowed into the UK for whatever reason. Melania is a better First Lady than he is President. Wonder where he has hidden her? She hasn’t been seen since the inauguration.
Didn’t England have a problem not long ago, with the Premier of China? The Queen told the world press how “rude” the Premier was. I recall she was very outspoken.
Is this not the moment the Duke of York has wanted: a chance for his daughters to be of use to the royal list of duties? Let them be the hosts. However, given DT’s regard for females, I would suggest their father be present at all times.
You should address the Duke of York as “sigi” because that’s his code name.
Here are my candidates for the best members of the Royal Family to meet the Trumps:
1. The Duchess of Cambridge and Lady Amelia Windsor since they are total babes and Trump likes attractive ladies.
2. The Princess Royal to keep President Trump in line just in case he decides he wants to be rude and suggestive to the above mentioned.
3. Princess Michael of Kent, particularly if Trump brings racist alt-right mastermind head politico Steve Bannon with him. Princess Michael can regale everyone with “tales from the SS” as told by her Nazi father, and fun tidbits such as racist and antisemitic comments she has been known to tactlessly produce on trips to the “colonies” in prior years.
4. I would invited The Duchess of York to dinner. Even though she is no longer a member of the royal family, President Trump may decide that she will be a better host for his televsion show “The Apprentice” than Arnold Schwarzenegger and make her a job offer to permanently relocate to Hollywood. The Royal Family will love it since everyone knows she has been living on site with Prince Andrew ever since the shame divorce after their sham marriage that no one took seriously in the first place.
5. The Duchess of Cornwall. Everyone will be very drunk after the State Dinner anyway, and can be amused to no end as President Trump manages to insult her appearance by saying things like “I can’t believe your husband ditched his babe wife for you way back when. You’re fired!”.
Well written. I laughed so hard my sides hurt, and I’m not a Trump hater. In your number one, I think you should include Sophie, The Countess of Wessex because she is a total “babe”. Your description of number 3 isn’t accurate, she is one of the last true aristocrats in Europe. She hated the Nazi’s, as did most of the aristocracy. Number 4 made me laugh the most. Prince Andrew and his two vacationing daugters are actually the laughing stock of Europe. Overall, your analysis is a work of art. Thank you.
A long time ago, members of my family decided to travel abroad and booked passage on the Mayflower…now, all these years later, here i sit wishing they had not done that…wishing i lived in England rather than here…Mr. Trump did not win the popular vote in the election which mean’s he really is not the people’s president..i don’t know whose president he is, but surely he isn’t mine…basically, he is an embarrassment to us…he does not possess the class for the position..he is, unfortunately, only dedicated to his massive ego and adding to his personal fortune…he is a buffoon..but aside from that, i feel that if the Queen refused to meet with him it would send a very strong message to trump from women all over the world that we will not put up with his actions, opinions and behavior toward women…Queen Elizabeth is the most powerful woman in the world and she can put him in his place by not uttering a single word..she has a daughter, granddaughters and great granddaughters that she loves tremendously..who better to be the voice for women worldwide without having to say anything…rescinding an invitation on the world stage by THE most loved and respected woman in the world speaks, no shouts, volumes and will impact so many…it’s not political and women wouldn’t take it that way…i hope and i know that she will consider all of her options, but somebody in her advisory circle should remind her that this vulgar little man is a threat to women everywhere and she is not obligated to spend time with him until he grows a conscience and sorts himself out.
Trump won the electoral college by 77 votes. He lost the overall popular vote because New York, Florida and California have a preponderance of Hispanic and Muslim voters (legal & illegal)

Prince Harry & Prince Philip. Prince Philip can be intimidating, make a few snarky remarks (that will probably go over Trump’s head); and Prince Harry can punch him in the nose. And maybe they could grant asylum to Melania, who is likely being verbally abused–if nothing worse. From a disgusted American citizen.
