Queen Elizabeth II

The Queen To Honour British Film Industry

Her Majesty The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh will hold a reception for the British film industry at Windsor Castle on Thursday 4th April 2013, it has been announced.

The event will recognise individuals who are involved with the British film industry.  The reception, which will take place in the State Apartments,  will be attended by up to 300 guests, including actors, directors, writers, producers, costume and set designers, publicists and critics.

The Queen and Prince Philip will meet Hollywood actors such as Kate Winslet and Sir Christopher.

Oscar winning Kate Winslet picked up her CBE from Her Majesty last November. Winslet, revealed that The Queen asked her how much she liked being an actress.

The Titanic star revealed: “I said yes I liked it but not as much as being a mother. She said, ‘it is the best job’.”

Guests will be able to view a short film, titled “One Hundred Years of Film”. Using 232 film clips, the film is a seven-minute-long tribute, and is produced by BAFTA, with the support of the British film industry.
