The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh are in residence at Windsor Castle ahead of their granddaughter’s wedding tomorrow.
The Royal Standard is flying above the castle which signals that the monarch is in residence.
This morning The Queen was at Buckingham Palace where she held an investiture to honours those named on the 2018 Birthday Honours List.
She only returned from her annual summer break in Scotland a couple of days ago after a ten-week stay at Balmoral Castle.
Tomorrow she and her family will attend the wedding of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank at St George’s Chapel.
It is not yet known whether Prince Philip will attend the ceremony. Sources say the 97-year-old will decide how he is feeling on the day.
One royal who won’t be present at the wedding ceremony will be the Duchess of Cornwall. The 71-year-old Duchess has prior commitments in Scotland which include a visit to a school.
Eugenie and Jack will marry at St George’s Chapel in Windsor on Friday morning.
The couple were engaged in Nicaragua while on holiday at the beginning of 2018. Princess Eugenie and Mr Brooksbank met at the Swiss resort of Verbier where Eugenie was on a family vacation celebrating her father’s 50th birthday. Mr Brooksbank is now manager of Mahiki, a nightclub in Mayfair but before that, he worked at Chelsea’s Admiral Codrington pub, then the Markham Inn. In a past interview with the Daily Mail, he said that his future dream is to open a line of pubs.
Following in the footsteps of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Eugenie and Jack have invited 1,200 people from across the United Kingdom to the grounds of Windsor Castle to share the experience of their special day.
