On Friday morning, Queen Elizabeth presented the latest investitures at Windsor Castle.

One of those being actor Eddie Redmayne, who is known for his work in Les Misérables, Theory of Everything and his latest adventure in Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them.

Eddie Redmayne was accompanied by this wife, Hannah Waddington to final be awarded his long postponed Order of the British Empire (OBE). After last year’s Oscar Award ceremonies where Eddie won ‘Best Actor’ for his part in the Theory of Everything as Professor Stephen Hawking, he was supposed to receive his OBE, however, due to a strict filming schedule for Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, an Oscar campaign for his work in The Danish Girl and the promotional tour for Fantastic Beasts, time was finally made to accept his award.

Eddie who was awarded his Order of the British Empire for his “service to drama” is not the first from the wizarding world of Harry Potter to receive one. Author and now a screenwriter, J.K Rowling is the recipient of an OBE, as his actor Robbie Coltrane, better known as Rubeus Hagrid to Harry Potter fans.

All Eddie’s work and “service to drama” may end up gaining Eddie Redmayne the title of ‘Sir’, yet to reach that he would have to be awarded the Commander of the British Empire (CBE) and then Knight of the British Empire (KBE).
