The Honours Forfeiture Committee is “actively considering” whether to make a recommendation to The Queen which would rescind the disgraced movie producer, Harvey Weinstein, of his CBE.
According to the BBC, the committee is looking into the notion of removing the honour. However, only the Monarch herself has the authority to remove somebody of their honour.
Mr Weinstein received an honorary CBE in 2004 for outstanding contribution to the British film industry.
The news comes after Mr Weinstein has been accused by more than two dozen women of crimes including sexual assault and rape.
Some of those who allege sexual impropriety include actresses Angelina Jolie, Gwyneth Paltrow and Rose McGowan.
Rescinding somebody of an honour is an uncommon occurrence.
Some high profile cases include the jockey Lester Piggott, who after being jailed in 1987 for tax fraud was stripped of his OBE.
The former banker Fred Goodwin also had an honour rescinded in 2012, when The Queen annulled his knighthood following the collapse of RBS.
The Honours Forfeiture Committee is made up of senior figures from the Cabinet Office, including the head of the Civil Home Service and the Cabinet Secretary, Sir Jeremy Heywood.
All decisions made by the committee are submitted to The Queen via the Prime Minister.
Until the Monarch actually rescinds an honour, discussions held at the committee are supposed to remain confidential.

The Queen is deemed, by her position, to be “above the law” – that is she cannot be called to appear in court for any reason. Technically, she is answerable to the British Parliament and the Parliament is answerable to her but the reality is both try to keep out of each other’s way, to avoid a biff or worse, a constitutional crisis.
And queenie stays out of Parliament’s hair to avoid jail too, LOL, just kidding but I’m sure her level of corruption is fairly untouchable. The RF get away with just about anything.

I just did not/do not understand why Sigi keeps insisting that I am feigning innocence about something that I truly know nothing about. You see, when I first read the info, it was completely beyond anything I could have imagined. The most horrific piece I’d read up until that stage was an essay by Hunter S Thompson (I think it was in Rolling Stone) and the penchant of the elites for certain human organs. When I worked at NC, I covered crime for a couple of years – appalling stuff – but was never exposed to the horrific excesses of the elites. So, thanks to you and a few posters from the other site, I’m now aware and nothing surprises me about what people are capable of.

The writing style gives me the impression she’s from the US. I don’t think she’d cross an ocean, but when I (eventually) contact Anne Marie, I’ll play up the fact that it’s having a bit of a psychological effect on me and other posters have noticed her extreme peculiarity.
