The Prince of Wales shared a joke with Hollywood star, Tom Cruise, as the two came together to show their support for the London Air Ambulance.
Prince William mentioned the actor in his speech at the gala which celebrated the work of the charity which provides vital emergency medical care across the capital.
Referring to new craft recently acquired by the Air Ambulance service, the Prince said ”if you wouldn’t mind not borrowing either of the new helicopters for the next Mission Impossible, it would be appreciated. We have all seen on our screens that – how can I put it – you seem to have a different take on normal wear and tear.”
The two men had earlier posed happily for photos after meeting again at the gala dinner which raised funds and awareness for the London Air Ambulance.
It’s not the first time the heir to the throne has met the star – they walked the red carpet in 2022 along with the now Princess of Wales for the premiere of Top Gun: Maverick.
The gala dinner came as Prince William returned to royal duties for the first time since the Princess was admitted to hospital for major surgery in mid January.
Hours before the black tie event in London, the Prince of Wales had hosted an investiture at Windsor Castle.
It was also the first time he had been seen since The King revealed that he had been diagnosed with cancer.
As he arrived for the London Air Ambulance event, Prince William thanked everyone for their kind wishes towards his wife and his father. In his speech, he also referenced them, once more expressing his thanks and adding ”it means a great deal to us all.”
