President Trump and the Queen: the photos from the official welcome at Buckingham Palace

Prince Charles, Donald Trump

There was pomp, there was ceremony and there were lots of smiles. The US State Visit to the United Kingdom began officially at Buckingham Palace as President Donald J. Trump and First Lady, Melania Trump, were welcomed to the UK by the Queen. The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall were first to greet the President and his wife as they arrived in the grounds of the Palace by helicopter. Then after the Queen’s official welcome, President Trump and the Prince of Wales inspected a Guard of Honour before the royals and their guests took lunch and toured a special exhibition of items in the Royal Collection with links to the US. Here are the best photos from the official welcome at the start of the US State Visit.
