King Charles III and Queen Camilla will make two State Visits in early Spring.
The King and Queen will travel to France and Germany at the end of March.
On March 26th 2023, they will arrive in France for a four day State Visit which will include time in Paris and Bordeaux. Their Majesties will travel from France to Germany on March 29th where they will begin a three day State Visit with stops in Berlin and Hamburg.
They will be the first outgoing State Visits of King Charles III’s reign. His Majesty has already hosted his first incoming State Visit, welcoming President Cyril Ramaphosa of South Africa last autumn.
As with all State Visits, the focus is on strengthening ties with other countries and celebrating cultural and historic connections. The visits will also concentrate on sustainability and community as well as the ongoing efforts by all three nations to respond to the conflict in Ukraine.
There will be State Banquets at Versailles and at Schloss Bellevue while His Majesty will also address the National Assembly in France and the Bundestag during his stay in Germany.
The King and Queen will also lay wreaths at the Arc de Triomphe in Paris and at the memorial at St. Nikolai’s Church in Hamburg.
Green technology will be the focus of visits to a sustainable vineyard in Bordeaux and to the Port of Hamburg. There will also be receptions for British communities in both France and Germany.
The State Visits will conclude on March 31st 2023.
