New details of the Platinum Pageant revealed

The finale of the Platinum Jubilee weekend will include a visual representation of The Queen’s whole 70 year reign as thousands take to the streets of London to mark the historic milestone.

Organisers of the Platinum Pageant have revealed fresh details of the show, which will unfold around Buckingham Palace on June 5th 2022 as the four day celebration for the Jubilee comes to an end.

The show will feature vintage cars and motorbikes as part of a moving ”scrapbook” of The Queen’s reign which will see over 3,000 people bring every year of her reign to life.

And while many of the details of the Pageant are now being made public, the closing part of the event will be kept secret to provide a surprise for crowds on the day as well as members of the Royal Family watching from Buckingham Palace.

The parade for the Pageant will have four separate sections. The first will be called ”For Queen and Country” and will feature over 2,000 serving military personnel. The second part is known as ”The Time of Our Lives” and will see thousands in vintage clothes and in classic vehicles painting a vivid image of The Queen’s reign. The third part will see twelve artistic organisations portraying one element of The Queen’s popular image. This section, called ”Celebration” already promises giant corgi puppets as part of the show. The last element is the surprise package.

Plans are already well developed and now organisers are appealing for people to take part in the Pageant. They want anyone with a car or motorbike from the past 70 years or with original vintage clothing from any part of The Queen’s reign to get in touch to become part of the celebration. More details can be found at platinumpageant.com.

The Platinum Pageant will also include a River of Hope, made up of scarves designed by schoolchildren around the UK.

The Queen marked her Platinum Jubilee on February 6th 2022 when she became the first British Monarch to rule for 70 years. The main celebrations take place in June 2022.
