As reported by Royal Central earlier this week, Prince Charles, known as The Duke of Rothesay in Scotland was in Ayr for a parade by the Queen’s Own Yeomanry. The Duke is the Royal Honorary Colonel.
As Charles left Ayr Town Hall, he met Private Barry Rooney and his new wife Kirstie as they departed their wedding ceremony at the Registrar’s Office.
The Prince offered his congratulations to the pair and posed for some photographs that will likely be the highlight of their wedding album.
“That was absolutely amazing, we were really shocked. Who can say they had their wedding photograph taken with the Prince of Wales? It’s a day we’ll remember forever,” the Rooney’s commented.

Earlier in the day, Charles took a royal salute from the Queen’s Own Yeomanry as they marched through Ayr town centre.
The Duke of Rothesay was dressed in a multi-terrain Army uniform. After the salute, he attended an honorary freedom service for the regiment at the Auld Kirk in the town before the civic function with soldiers and their families.
