Prince Charles embroiled in major art scandal

The Prince of Wales has been embroiled in a major art scandal after allegations were made that a painting hanging at Dumfries House is a fake.

According to the Mail on Sunday, the paining in question is not a £50 million masterpiece by Monet, but is in fact a forgery.

The painting has now been removed from public display at the Prince’s stately home.

The Mail also claims to have seen paperwork showing that two other artworks at the house, a £42 million Picasso and a £12 million Dali, are also fake

A Prince’s Foundation spokesman said: “Dumfries House accepts artwork on loan from time to time from individuals and organisations.

“It is extremely regrettable that the authenticity of these particular paintings, which are no longer on display, now appears to be in doubt.”
