Prince Charles cancels visit to Wales due to ongoing dangers

Prince Charles has cancelled his upcoming visit to Wales due to the danger posed by Storm Eunice which is battering parts of the UK.

The Prince of Wales was due to visit Newport and Swansea on Friday.

However, a Clarence House spokesperson confirmed that the visit has now been postponed following official guidance.

The locations where Charles was due to visit currently have a rare red weather warning in place – the highest grade of danger.

The Met Office warns Storm Eunice could bring winds of up to 90mph.

A Clarence House spokesperson said: ”Following official guidance, The Prince of Wales’s visit to Newport and Swansea on Friday 18th February will not go ahead due to the dangers posed by Storm Eunice.

“In the interests of public safety, these engagements will be postponed with a view to rescheduling at a future date.”
