King Charles III

Celebrations for a Jubilee king at Windsor Castle

Windsor Castle will play host to Jubilee celebrations as one king marks a special anniversary

King Abdullah II of Jordan will be welcomed to the castle as part of commemorations for his Silver Jubilee year.

King Charles III will host his friend and fellow monarch at Windsor to mark 25 years since his accession as Jordan’s king.

The two will inspect a guard of honour and hold talks as they celebrate the anniversary.

There is a strong relationship between the two royals and King Charles has visited Jordan on five separate occasions. He also hosted King Abdullah at Buckingham Palace in November 2022 and has held several phone meetings with him, most recently in February 2024.

Abdullah II became King of Jordan on February 7th 1999 on the death of his father, King Hussein II. His Silver Jubilee year has been marked by happy family news as his elder son and heir, Crown Prince Hussein and his wife, Princess Rajwa, welcomed a daughter, Princess Iman, in the summer.
