The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall will visit Germany on Sunday 15th November to commemorate the country’s National Day of Mourning.
Their Royal Highnesses will will attend the Central Remembrance Ceremony in Berlin to commemorate the occasion 75 years on from the end of the Second World War.
This visit will mark an important moment in the Anglo-German relationship as Charles and Camilla will become the first members of The Royal Family to ever take part in Remembrance commemorations on German soil.
The visit is being undertaken at the request of the British Government following an invitation from the President of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
During their visit, the royal couple will also attend the wreath-laying ceremony at the Neue Wache Memorial.
Their Royal Highnesses will then join the Central Remembrance Ceremony at the German parliament, where Prince Charles will deliver a speech.
The National Day of Mourning will this year focus on the German- British friendship, which has grown in the 75 years since the end of the Second World War.
The event pays tribute to the Allied commitment to the liberation from Nazi occupation and to the reconstruction, re-democratisation and subsequent reunification of Germany. It remembers all victims of war and tyranny.
Sunday’s upcoming visit follows on from Remembrance commemorations in 2018 when President Steinmeier attended the British Remembrance Day service at the Cenotaph where he laid a wreath.

Prince Charles has visited Germany over 30 times, with his first trip to the country occurring in 1962.
The Duchess of Cornwall made her first official visit to the country in 2009, with the couple most recently visiting in 2019.
A Clarence House spokesperson says that all necessary measures will be taken to comply with regulations and guidance in regards to the ongoing public health emergency.
