King Charles and Queen Camilla to make State Visit to Kenya

The King and Queen are to make a State Visit to Kenya.

The trip, at the invitation of President Roto, is also the first to a Commonwealth country since Charles III ascended the throne.

Their Majesties will arrive in Kenya on October 31st and continue their State Visit until November 3rd.

They will visit Nairobi City County and Mombasa County.

Throughout the trip, engagements will bolster on the ways the UK and Kenya are working together and focus n areas including tackling climate change and supporting sustainable development.

The State Visit comes as Kenya prepares to mark 60 years of independence.

It is also a poignant trip for King Charles III. Queen Elizabeth II was in Kenya on February 6th 1952 when she was told she had ascended the throne on the sudden death of her father, King George VI.
