Buckingham Palace release a new photograph to mark the engagement of Lady Gabriella Windsor

Buckingham Palace has released an image to commemorate the engagement of Lady Gabriella Windsor to her long-term partner, Thomas Kingston.

The photograph was taken by Alexandra Diez de Rivera and shows the couple after the announcement of their engagement was made public.

Lady Gabriella Windsor is the daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent – Prince Michael is The Queen’s cousin.

The couple got engaged last month on the Isle of Sark. They will marry at a ceremony in Spring 2019.

A Buckingham Palace spokesperson said: “Prince and Princess Michael of Kent are delighted to announce the engagement of their daughter Lady Gabriella Windsor to Mr Thomas Kingston.

“The engagement took place in August; Mr Kingston proposed on the Isle of Sark.”

Lady Gabriella was educated at Queen’s Gate School in London and Downe House School at Cold Ash near Newbury, Berkshire before passing a BA degree in Comparative Literature at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island in May 2004. More recently in 2012, Lady Gabriella passed an MPhil degree in Social Anthropology from Linacre University in Oxford.

As well as being a Senior Director for Branding South America, a company which provides a platform for companies working in that region, she is also a Director of Playing for Change, a not-for-profit organisation concerned with global music and arts education, and Toucan Ventures which promotes creative entrepreneurs.

Lady Gabriella is also a freelance writer and contributes to several magazines including The London Magazine.

Thomas Kingston is a good friend of Prince William and a former boyfriend of Pippa Middleton who he is still good friends with, he works as an investment banker with Devonport Capital.

Lady Gabriella does attend the occasional royal function and can be often seen at events including Trooping of the Colour, and she attended Pippa Middleton’s wedding. As Lady Gabriella is not directly related to The Queen, it is doubtful that the couple will be given a title come to the wedding next year.
