Elizabeth II: Our Queen for 70 Years

The Queen has now reigned for 70 years.

Her Majesty passed the milestone as the clock struck midnight on February 6th 2022.

Elizabeth II is the first British Monarch to rule for 70 years.

Her reign, already the longest in British history, has seen many changes and been hailed as a new Elizabethan age.

It is expected that The Queen, who is at Sandringham, will spend the day quietly as she remembers her father, King George VI whose death in the early hours of February 6th 1952 led to her accession.

The main celebrations for her Platinum Jubilee will take place in London in the first days of June 2022.
