The Earl and Countess of Wessex have concluded their two-day visit to Estonia and will shortly depart for Latvia to begin a day of engagements there.
Edward and Sophie are currently undertaking a tour of the Baltic States, starting in Estonia and ending in Lithuania.
Their Royal Highnesses arrived in Estonia on Sunday and were officially welcomed by President Kersti Kaljulaid and the First Gentleman, Georgi Maksimovski.

President Kalhulaid presented the royal couple with honey from the rose garden of the Office of the President. Clearly great minds think alike as TRH presented the president with honey from the royal residences in the UK.
The aim of the visit was to mark Estonia’s Centenary as well as to celebrate and strengthen 100 years of friendship between Estonia and the UK.
Edward and Sophie remained in the capital city of Tallinn during their stay where they completed a variety of engagements.
On Monday morning they visited the Defence Forces Cemetery of Tallinn to remember those killed in conflict.

Prince Edward laid a wreath at the War Memorial and at the graves of British sailors.
They then travelled to Tallinn English College where the royal couple sat in on a few lessons where they heard students debate the topic of gender equality.
Afterwards, Their Royal Highnesses visited Seaplane Harbour – one of the world’s most impressive maritime museums.
Here they opened a new exhibition entitled ‘Operation Red Trek. Ensuring Estonian Freedom’.
Later in the day, the Earl and Countess visited the Estonian Parliament – Riigikogu. This is the only legislative chamber in Estonia and is where all treaties and laws are made.

In the afternoon travelled to the scenic Kadriorg Park where Their Royal Highnesses planted an oak tree that commemorates the 100th Anniversary of the Republic of Estonia & the 300th Anniversary of Kadriorg Park.
Later, they attended a reception for The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award at the ambassador’s residence.
On Tuesday, Edward and Sophie will arrive in Latvia for a day of engagements. Amongst the tasks they will undertake includes a visit to Riga Castle on the banks of the River Daugava.
Then on Wednesday, the royal couple will visit Lithuania for another day of engagements.
