The Edinburghs

Sophie in white on her wedding anniversary

The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh marked a major milestone on June 19th 2024 – the couple celebrated their silver wedding anniversary. Both Edward and Sophie celebrated by attending Day 2 of Royal Ascot, and Sophie chose an appropriate dress for the occasion.

The Duchess wore a white tea length gown with a mesh floral full-length overlay on Wednesday. She paired it with a white, wide-brimmed hat and a coordinating purse.

The day was truly a family event as Edward and Sophie were joined by Sophie’s father, Christopher Rhys-Jones. They looked to be enjoying the day as they chatted in the Royal Enclosure.

Notably, The Prince of Wales made his first Royal Ascot appearance for 2024 as he arrived in the carriage procession that begins each day. While The King did not attend on Wednesday, Prince William joined Queen Camilla and the Earl and Countess of Halifax in the first carriage.

Earlier in the day, The Duke and Duchess released two portraits in honour of their silver wedding anniversary. Photographer Chris Jeff snapped the couple outside Bagshot Park, their Windsor home. They shared the images on social media with a message thanking well-wishers and a hope for anyone else celebrating their anniversary to enjoy.
