Charles III, King for a year

The King is marking the first anniversary of his accession.

His Majesty will spend the day at Balmoral where he became Monarch.

King Charles will pass the moment in quiet reflection as today is also, of course, the first anniversary of the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.

Queen Camilla is with His Majesty in Scotland.

The Prince and Princess of Wales will be in St. David’s in Wales where the heir to the throne is expected to make a speech marking the accession anniversary and the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

Charles III became King at 3.10pm on September 8th 2022 on the death of Her Late Majesty. He was crowned at Westminster Abbey on May 6th 2023.
