The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry to train with Heads Together Runners

As part of their Heads Together campaign to get the world talking about mental health, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry will attend a series of four events from February 5 to 6. The one joint event where all three Royals will participate in will take place on Sunday, February 5 at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, (QEOP). The Royals will join Team Heads Together for Heads Together Training Day.

There are eight partner organisations working with Heads Together, which was named the charity of the year for the 2017 Virgin Money Marathon to take place in April. Heads Together is part of The Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry. There will be a run around QEOP and the London Marathon Community Track where 150 runners who are participating in this year’s marathon on behalf of Heads Together will practice beside the Olympic Arena. Their Royal Highnesses will join them on the track.

Q&A sessions and presentations on training for a marathon will be held at the Copper Box Arena. The Heads Together runners will hear presentations from nutritionists and other professionals working in sports medicine. Part of their responsibility as runners for the Heads Together Campaign is to fundraise for the eight partner organisations. They will also see sessions on providing services and support for mental health on a day-to-day basis.

The runners will receive advice and encouragement on how to become leaders in the campaign and how to be successful in starting millions of conversations related to mental health this year. The Duke of Cambridge will offer them his own words of encouragement.

Their Royal Highnesses will share how all 38,000 marathon runners can help fundraise or support Heads Together or any personal cause they wish. Joining them will be three-time London Marathon winner and Marathon World winner, Paula Radcliff who will also advise the runners.
