The Duchess of Cambridge’s most iconic style moments

The Duchess of Cambridge is well-known across the world for her iconic style, whether it’s a glamourous dress on a red carpet or a cosy winter coat. I take a look back at some of her most iconic style moments, from her stunning wedding dress to the outfits she wore whilst introducing her children to the world for the first time.

The engagement dress, 2010

The Duchess of Cambridge announced her engagement to the Duke of Cambridge at St James’s Palace back in November 2010. The Duchess wore a blue silk Issa dress with long sleeves and a plunge neck, paired with black heels. As well as it being one of her most iconic style moments, it was one of the most iconic moments in her life: she was engaged to the future King of England.

The wedding dress, 2011

For her wedding, the Duchess of Cambridge wore a Grace-Kelly inspired Alexander McQueen gown. The dress had an elegant lace top that extended down her arms, a plunging neckline and a very long train. The gown was seen all over the world and made lace long-sleeved wedding dresses very popular.

The wedding reception dress, 2011

Despite many people mainly remembering the Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding dress, the gown she wore to her wedding reception was equally admired around the world. The Alexander McQueen dress was an off-white silk gown with an embellished belt around the waist. The Duchess wore a short long-sleeved fluffy white cardigan giving the overall look a cute yet stylish touch.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended the BAFTA “Brits To Watch” event in L.A. The Duchess wore a stunning flowing lavender-coloured gown designed by Alexander McQueen. Despite being a quite simple design, it oozed elegance and sophistication and made the Duchess look like a Hollywood star on the red carpet.

Prince George’s first appearance, 2013

For introducing their first child to the world, the Duchess of Cambridge wore a cap-sleeved cornflower blue dress with a white polka dot print. It was designed by one of her favourite British designers, Jenny Packham, and the Duchess paired it with a neutral wedge shoe. The dress appeared to pay homage to Diana, Princess of Wales as she also wore a polka dot dress whilst introducing the Duke of Cambridge to the world.

Princess Charlotte’s first appearance, 2015

Jenny Packham was the designer of choice yet again to introduce Princess Charlotte to the world for the first time. The Duchess wore a yellow dress with a buttercup print that had longer sleeves to accommodate for the Spring weather. The dress was worn with nude heels, making the look more glamourous than the outfit she wore for introducing Prince George.

Prince Louis’ first appearance, 2018

The Duchess of Cambridge wore another Jenny Packham dress whilst introducing Prince Louis to the world for the first time. The dress was cherry red with a white lace collar and had similarities to the outfit Diana, Princess of Wales wore when she introduced Prince Harry to the world.
