Kensington Palace has announced that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry will celebrate World Mental Health Day at County Hall and The London Eye with Heads Together on Monday, 10 October.
Kensington Palace has said that the theme for this year “focuses on the importance of psychological and mental health first aid for all.” During a reception for the charities that are part of Heads Together, Their Royal Highnesses will meet with people who have received help from friends, family, or colleagues in crucial moments of their lives. They will also speak with those who have provided support. The Palace said, “They are interested in learning about the kind of support that helps and what information is available for people who might find themselves in a situation where they need to help someone or to direct them to professional services.

The Duke, Duchess, and Prince Harry will all speak at the event, as well, before taking a ride on the London Eye with those who have shared their mental health first aid experiences. The London Eye will light up in purple later that day to show support of World Mental Health Day. Other buildings around the world will also be lit up in purple for the worldwide movement of ending the stigma around mental health. At the County Hall reception, guests will be able to take a photo with a message of thanks for someone being #Thereforme at the photo booths that will be set up by Dixons Carphone, a corporate partner of Heads Together, and The Mix, one of the eight Heads Together Charity Partners. These photos will be posted online and on the website that was created for this campaign.
