Prince William praises ‘top team performance’ as England thrash Ukraine 4-0 to reach Euros semi-final

The Duke of Cambridge has sent his congratulations to the England football team following their emphatic win over Ukraine in the European Championships quarter final.

England’s 4-0 win against Ukraine means they progress to the semi final of the competition.

Their next game will be on Wednesday when England will take on Denmark at Wembley Stadium in London for a place in the final.

In a tweet on Saturday evening, Prince William said: “Another top team performance and clean sheet from England tonight.”

He continued: “Well played to Ukraine. Can’t wait for Wednesdays semi final! Onwards.”

The Duke of Cambridge was joined by his wife, the Duchess of Cambridge, and their eldest child, Prince George, for England’s previous match against Germany earlier in the week.

It is unknown whether there will be any royals attending the semi final on Wednesday, however, it is more than likely we will see football superman William in attendance.

Prince William has been President of the the Football Association, the governing body of English football, since May 2006.

In that time, he has become heavily involved in football’s governance and has been an advocate for anti-racism campaigns in the sport.
