BREAKING: Prince George and Princess Charlotte arrive at hospital to meet their little brother

Prince George and Princess Charlotte have arrived at St Mary’s Hospital in London to meet their new baby brother for the first time.

The two young royals were both born at the same hospital. Catherine gave birth to George in the Lindo Wing in 2013, and to Charlotte in 2015.

The Duke of Cambridge left the Duchess at 16:15 this afternoon and travelled to Kensington Palace to pick up the children.

It is unlikely that the whole family of five will appear on the steps of the Lindo Wing when the Duchess is discharged from hospital.

A more likely scenario is that the new baby Prince will leave hospital with his parents and will pose for photos for a short time.

The Duchess of Cambridge went into labour in the early morning hours and was admitted into the Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hosptial on St George’s Day before 6 am. Kensington Palace announced around 8:30am this morning that Her Royal Highness had been admitted to hospital with the Duke of Cambridge at her side.

A few hours later at 11:01, the Duchess gave birth to a healthy baby boy weighing 8lbs 7oz.

Her Majesty The Queen was the first to be notified of the birth. From there Kensington Palace tweeted out the news and an easel with all the birth details will be placed outside of Buckingham Palace before the end of the day.

The name of the new baby will be announced in a few days time.
