Princess Anne’s Private Secretary is knighted by The Queen as he leaves role

Princess Anne’s long-serving Private Secretary, Captain Nicholas Wright, has been received in audience by The Queen as he relinquished his appointment.

During his meeting with the monarch, Her Majesty conferred upon him the honour of Knighthood and invested him with the Insignia of Knight Commander of the Royal Victorian Order.

Sir Nicholas has been Private Secretary to The Queen’s daughter since 2002. Prior to his appointment at Buckingham Palace, the 69-year-old spent three decades in the Royal Navy.

The Royal Family advertised for a new Private Secretary earlier this year. The advert, posted on social media site LinkedIn, gained over 37,000 views making it one of the most visited adverts on the site this year.
