Princess Charlene shares a giant red and white cake covered in macarons for Prince Albert’s special anniversary

Princess Charlene applauds at celebrations for the 20th anniversary of the reign of her husband, Prince Albert II of Monaco

Princess Charlene helped cut a huge cake covered in macarons as her husband, Prince Albert, marked 20 years as ruler of Monaco.

The couple were joined by their ten year old twins, Jacques and Gabriella, for the celebrations which took place in the heart of Prince’s Palace in Monaco.

Prince Albert’s nieces and nephews were also at the party which brought together thousands of people from across the tiny country.

Monaco’s royals were greeted by cheers and applause as they arrived for the festivities under cloudless blue skies.

Prince Albert gave an emotional speech and ended up shedding tears as he spoke with warmth about his family and the people of Monaco.

Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella joined their parents for a walkabout in the crowds to meet man of those who had come to celebrate with Albert.

The crowning moment of they party came with the arrival of a huge cake in Monaco’s national colours of red and white.

A team of chefs carried out the treat which was made of multiple tiers and features a giant cone and several orbs, all covered in red and white macarons.

Albert II had the first taste before the cake was cut up for the thousand who had come along to party.

A spectacular light display rounded off the celebrations.

The reign of Prince Albert began on April 5 2005 on the death of his father, Prince Rainier III. A series of events to mark the 20th anniversary of Albert’s rule is taking place in Monaco throughout 2025.p
