King Harald of Norway in hospital after being taken ill on holiday

The King of Norway has been taken to hospital during a holiday in Malaysia.

King Harald is being treated for an infection.

The Royal Court said His Majesty was doing well.

He is under the care of Malaysian and Norwegian doctors.

No further details were given.

King Harald recently celebrated his 87th birthday.

In recent days, he has hosted a major State Visit to Norway by the President of Tanzania.

As is usual, during his break, his son and heir, Crown Prince Haakon, is acting as regent.
