King Charles and Queen Camilla arrive for State Visit to Samoa

The King and Queen have touched down in Samoa for their latest State Visit.

King Charles and Queen Camilla flew there from Australia where they’ve just finished a successful tour.

Their Majesties arrived at Faleolo International Airport to a ceremonial welcome.

They were met by Samoa’s Prime Minister, Afioga FiamÄ“ Naomi MataÊ»afa. The UK Foreign Secretary, David Lammy, was also there to greet them.

There was a guard of honour at the airport, made up of Samoa’s police force. King Charles inspected the guard during the welcome ceremony.

His Majesty later held a private meeting with Afioga Fiamē Naomi Mataʻafa.

Their Majesties will spend several days in Samoa. The country is also hosting the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting which King Charles will attend. It is the first CHOGM since The King became Head of the Commonwealth.

The visit is also the first time that King Charles and Queen Camilla have visited Samoa together.
