Royal Christmas

Prince George’s first Christmas

Prince George’s first Christmas was in 2013 when he was just five months old.

Christmas for the Cambridge family was in Norfolk at the Royal Family’s Sandringham Estate.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, as William and Catherine were then known, left baby George back at Sandringham for the annual Christmas service and walk to and from St. Mary Magdalene Church.

However, Prince William did reveal a tidbit about George’s first Christmas during the walk to the church: “We’ve had a good morning with George, and I can’t wait until next year when he’s bigger.”

Catherine also revealed that George had a “lovely day” but was “more interested in the wrapping paper than the presents.”

The five-month-old was also featured in his great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II’s Christmas Day address as a picture from his christening could be seen behind Her Majesty.

During Queen Elizabeth’s speech, she spoke of Prince George, remarking: “Here at home my own family is a little larger this Christmas. As so many of you will know, the arrival of a baby gives everyone the chance to contemplate the future with renewed happiness and hope. For the new parents, life will never be quite the same again.”

Time was also spent with the Middletons at their new mansion in Buckleberry, so both sides of his family were able to spend time with him on his first Christmas.
