The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have formally registered Prince George’s birth.
The new parents registered the baby’s birth on Friday morning in Kensington, just over a week after the little Prince’s arrival. George’s name and surname appears as ‘His Royal Highness Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge’ on the birth certificate, while the document was signed by the Duke as ‘William’.
The document sites William and Kate’s occupations and describes them as a ‘Prince’ and ‘Princess’ of the United Kingdom.
Prince George was born on July 22 in the Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London. The proud parents left the hospital the next day, giving the world the first glimpse of the newborn.
Two days later, it was officially announced the little Prince would be named George, and his official title would be ‘His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge’.
After leaving the hospital, the Cambridges and their new son stayed at Kensington Palace for the first night, where they were visited by the Queen and Prince Harry.
Shortly after their visitors, the royal trio made their way to Bucklebury, Berkshire, to stay with Kate’s parents Michael and Carole Middleton.
It is expected the Duke and Duchess will release the first official images of Prince George next week, and the couple are planning to talk to the media at some point in the near future.
Prince William will return to royal duties on August 14, when he attends the Anglesey Show, in Wales, while new mother Kate is expected to announce new engagements in a ‘matter of weeks’.
