“Your new Prime Minister is a liar” is projected onto Buckingham Palace

A projection featuring Boris Johnson has been projected onto the front of Buckingham Palace claiming the new Prime Minister is a liar.

The image featuring Mr Johnson holding a kipper alongside the words “Your Majesty, your new Prime Minister is a LIAR” appeared on The Queen’s London residence.

The stunt was organised by the group Led By Donkeys and is in reference to accusations that he has lied about various claims, including kippers being sent by post from Brussels.

Mr Johnson will travel to Buckingham Palace tomorrow where Her Majesty will ask if he has the confidence of the House of Commons to form a government.

Presuming he answers in the affirmative, from that moment Mr Johnson will become the 14th Prime Minister of The Queen’s reign.

Mr Johnson won the Conservative leadership election on Tuesday by securing 92,153 votes, much more than his rival Jeremy Hunt, who received 46,656 votes.

Boris Johnson, the former Mayor of London and Foreign Secretary, is probably one of the UK’s best-known politicians.

With his marmite personality, Mr Johnson has always held leadership ambitions and is the most likely to succeed Theresa May as Prime Minister.

As Prime Minister, Mr Johnson will be tasked with managing the UK’s departure from the European Union. The 55-year-old Etonian led the campaign to leave the EU during the 2016 referendum.
