A wreath of flowers from her beloved homes, with a nod to her wedding, adorns Queen Elizabeth’s coffin

King Charles III chose the flowers in the wreath on top of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s coffin.

The blooms include deep red, bright pink and regal gold petals, cut from the gardens of several of Her Late Majesty’s beloved homes.

Poignantly, the wreath also includes myrtle taken from the bush at Osborne House. It was taken from a plant grown from the sprig of myrtle used in Her Late Majesty’s wedding bouquet.

Also among the flowers are English oak leaves and rosemary, for remembrance.

A single white card was nestled among the flowers. It bore the black border of mourning and was marked ‘Buckingham Palace’. Through the flowers could be seen the signature ‘Charles’.

The Queen loved her gardens and in the days since her death, wreaths of flowers taken from them have adorned her coffin.

Her Late Majesty’s State Funeral is taking place at Westminster Abbey.
