Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel of Sweden have completed their visit to Jordan as part of their Middle East trip to the Hashemite Kingdom and Lebanon.
Their Royal Highnesses were in Amman, Jordan, from 15 through 17 October before moving on to Lebanon today.

The beginning of their trip saw the couple visit the Citadel of Amman (located on the highest of Jordan’s seven classic hills, Jebel al-Qala’a) alongside the State Council. That evening, Their Royal Highnesses attended a reception, hosted by Sweden’s Ambassador to Jordan Erik Ullenhag, for UN organisations operating in Jordan with the Swedish government. The UN Sustainability Goal (SDG) on climate and gender equality were the main topics during a roundtable discussion during the reception. The Crown Princess is an advocate for the SDG.
Their second day in Jordan featured a five-kilometre hike on the Jordan Route trail which extends for over 65 miles. They heard from different organisations during their trek on how they work on protecting the environment while also benefiting the local people in the area.

Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel next went to the Dead Sea for a meeting with the organisation EcoPeace Middle East. The water shortage in Gaza and the overall region was a focal point. Their Royal Highnesses also visited the baptism site of Jesus, Scandinavian forest, and the Palestinian refugee camp Al Baq’a. Their day ended with a meeting with Jenny Atout Ahlzén, the founder of the philanthropist company Frmtoo – a business that helps to meet the needs of vulnerable people through individual donations.
On their final day in Amman, Victoria and Daniel visited the rehabilitation centre, the Al Hussein Society, that aims to “integrate people with functional variations in society and raise awareness about physical and neuropsychic function variations,” according to the Royal Court.
Afterwards, they headed to the Jordan River Foundation, initiated by Queen Rania of Jordan, that works for children’s safety, female entrepreneurship, and local development.
The Crown Princess Couple concluded the Jordanian leg of their trip with an audience with King Abdullah II of Jordan, his wife, Queen Rania, and his brother, Prince Ali at Al Husseiniya Palace.
