King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden have been hosting Icelandic President Tómasdóttir for a State Visit. Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria and Princess Madeleine wore some of their favourite jewels for the State Dinner that took place in the Royal Palace in Stockholm.
Queen Silvia chose a gem known as Queen Sofia’s Nine Prong Tiara, an impressive diamond tiara with floral elements and bursts. She also wore it with the stunning Pink Topaz Parure, a set of pink topaz and diamonds with a necklace, a pair of earrings, and two brooches. The major set is over two centuries old and has been in the Swedish Royal Family for over a century.

The heir to throne, Crown Princess Victoria, chose one of the more mysterious tiaras from the family collection. She wore the Aquamarine Kokoshnik Tiara- it is unknown when the tiara was made or which jeweller created it, only that it was recorded first in the 1910s. However, it’s become one of the most popular tiaras in the modern Swedish Royal Family.
Princess Madeleine wore the elegant ruby tiara, a diadem that King Edward VII gave as a wedding gift to his niece, Princess Margaret of Connaught in 1905. The floral-style diamond tiara has several ruby accents. It also can be worn either as a tiara or as a necklace.
All three royal women wore King Carl Gustaf’s Portrait Brooch, a painted portrait of His Majesty set in a diamond frame.
