The news was Her Majesty’s cold was made public on Monday morning by the Swedish Royal Court.

Daniel Urso, from the Swedish Royal Court’s information department, reassured people that Her Majesty had tested negative for Covid-19. He said: “The Queen has a cold and cannot travel to Dubai. Her Majesty has tested negative for Covid-19. However, as she has cold symptoms, she will stay home from the trip with respect for the participants at the upcoming World Expo 2020 exhibition.”

The King will now represent the Royal Family alone at the World Expo 2020. Sweden will participate with its own pavilion on the theme of sustainability, which will be presented with a ceremony at Al Wasl Plaza. The King will stay in Dubai for three days alongside Swedish Foreign Minister Anna Hallberg. The Swedish delegation consists of 250 people.
