Princess Madeleine and her family celebrated the 4th of July holiday at their Miami home on Saturday.
The Swedish Princess posted a American Independence Day message on her Instagram saying, “Happy 4th of July!”
Princess Madeleine shared an image of her three children on the beach for the US holiday.
Princess Madeleine is married to American-British financier, Chris O’Neill. Their first child, Princess Leonore, is a dual American-Swedish citizen due to her birth in New York City. Madeleine and Chris’s other two children, Prince Nicolas and Princess Adrienne, were both born in Sweden but are entitled to American citizenship as their father is American. It is not known if the births of Nicolas and Adrienne were registered in the US, and thus if they hold dual citizenship like their older sister.
Princess Madeleine and her family reside in Miami, Florida, where her husband works. They moved from London to the US in August 2018. The family also has a residence in Stockholm.
The family usually spends the summer in Sweden; however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family has been unable to travel from the United States to Europe. As such, they missed Sweden’s National Day celebrations on 6 June.
Celebrations in the country for the Royal Family were moved online with Crown Princess Victoria giving tours of the Royal Palace in Stockholm on YouTube and King Carl XVI Gustaf speaking to the people in a television address.
