Princess Madeleine and Chris O’Neill to attend Nobel event in the United States

Princess Madeleine of Sweden and her husband, Chris O’Neill, may not be scheduled to attend the December Nobel Prize events in Sweden this year, but that does not mean they are missing all of the Nobel fun.

The couple will attend the 2023 Nobel Prize dinner at the Swedish Embassy in Washington D.C., on 13 November.

The Information Department at the Royal Court told Svenskdam about the royal participation, “Princess Madeleine and Mr Christopher O’Neill attend the ambassador’s dinner held in the presence of the American Nobel laureates.”

The Swedish Embassy in the American capital hosts the American Nobel laureates each year at the House of Sweden.

Princess Madeleine and Chris will not attend the Nobel events in Stockholm at the beginning of December due to the long travel from Florida to Sweden. Princess Madeleine last attended the Nobel events in Stockholm in 2019, while Chris hasn’t attended for six years.

They are expected to be back in Sweden at Christmas, just in time for Queen Silvia’s 80th birthday celebrations on 23 December.

The Princess and her family, including children Princess Leonore, Prince Nicolas and Princess Adrienne, are expected to move back to Sweden next year.
